REVIEW

Highly Addicting!!!! That's what comes to mind when I think of the Severed series. From the first few pages in Severed Angel I was hooked. This series is non-stop, it keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.
The characters in this series are so well developed you feel like you know each and every one of them. You will feel their pain, fear, and desire. Best of all you get some seriously sexy bikers.
This series made me laugh and cry.
Carnal Persuasion picks up right where Severed Justice ends. The Severed MC are trying to get back to normal after suffering painful losses and constant fighting to keep their loved ones safe. This installment focuses on Cowboy, he feels broken and filled with grief after suffering betrayal and loss. He makes a promise to keep Lucy safe, but it's Lucy who will help him heal.
There is a new threat to the Severed MC and the citizens of Severed. An anonymous organized crime syndicate moves into Severed filling the streets with drugs. Enter Declan, new to Severed, new bar owner, and sexy badass. Declan will prove a welcome asset to the Severed MC, even with his secret past.
I have to say this one had me yelling at the end. This installment starts a whole new chapter of trouble and with more questions then answers I'm already anxiously awaiting the next book in this fantastic series. I could talk all day about these books. I'm trying very hard not to give any spoilers "it's soo hard".  I can't recommend this series enough. You have to read it and you will not regret it. Warning you may end up with a serious book hangover, I sure did I can't stop thinking about these books.

Renaria - into the Adyton

Synopsis

A small memento, a universal power...

It's the year 2126, post world war V. Leda, age seventeen, bounds through the lush forested region of the Desintor Foothills as a regal, bow - wielding, High - Elf Scout. That is, when she is logged into her favorite MMO game: Renaria.

One crisp fall afternoon, an unseasonal storm fractures the sky of Trinton, New Texas with splinters of emerald lightening and otherworldly songs. Oddly, no one sees the storm except her brother and their guild mate Travis.

She brushes of the event as a fluke, but she can't seem to get the song out of her mind. Suddenly, a new quest appears in her game directing her to the blue sand dunes of the Sinare Desert to meet Caleb, a legendary Elf Diviner.

Now she has a choice: ignore the quest and turn off the game, or dive in and risk everything for a shot at an adventure.

During her graduate studies in antropology she focused primarily on humans and their interactions with technology. All kinds! Language, tool, cyborgs, etc. In her debut fantasy novel, Renaria - into the Adyton, she sought out to weave these interests together.
When not writing or reading you can find her in World of Warcraft, FFXIV or the latest MMORPG creating new characters or exploring new quests. She's on Facebook and Twitter and currently lives in Texas with her husband four kids (cats) and a dog.

SPOILERS~SPOILERS~SPOILERS

Have you ever played a game and thought, "Wow, if only this was real?"
Well, in J.L. Wilson's debut novel Renaria - into the Adyton it is. If you love all things magic and fantasy. You will love this novel.
The time is set in the future Earth after a Worlds War in 2126. After Earth is almost destroyed by what they think is an asteroid. Not only does Earth now have a new day Novusday, But there is now virtual video games. Leda, our main character is seventeen and a High-Elf Scout in her favorite game Renaria. Along with her twin brother Alex a "Sorien" or soldier  and guild member Travis a "Prior" or healer. Will be contacted by a fairy like Feon with intructions concerning keeping them safe. They will be led to a fourth member of there chosen team Menaia a "Mage". Together these four will piece together information sent to them revealing, Renaria as a real place. Connected to there world through the video game by the evil Adepts. They travel to Renaria and meet the real Magistrates of the Consortium. This is where they will find out they were chosen to defend Renaria from the Adepts and stop them from stealing a special Ore that fuels terrible weapons, used in the real world Earth. The four team members or "Seons" must decide to stay and fight to protect Renaria and Earth or go home.
This book was such a joy to read. The characters are well developed and I love how time is spent on each character and their own journey and trials they face in Renaria and training. There is reference to a slight romance between Leda and Caleb. I do wish this was a little better developed. Leda has an obvious crush on Caleb and he knows it, as they can read thoughts. At the end Caleb kisses Leda and vows to see her again. I just felt the building of a romance was missing. The thought he's just not that into you crossed my mind as Caleb stops himself anytime  he starts to show possible affection for Leda and moves on with his duties. I so hope there is a sequel to this book. I want more of Leda and Caleb. I'm also interested to see how life is after the Seon's or our characters return home. AND.. what a cliff hanger Leda spots her dad coming home. In this novel Leda and Alex's Dad has gone missing and presumed dead. However. Leda is contacted by her dad in the game. He was fully aware of all things Renaria before he went missing and its with his help, through Leda's visions that the Seon's figure out how to get to Renaria and Leda is able to access her abilities. What abilities? Well each of our characters takes on the abilities of there chosen game characters (happy dances). How awesome would that be. I have to say the world building and pure imagination of J.L. Wilson is not only incredible it is refreshing.
So if you are a gamer or a lover of all things fantasy and magic. This is the perfect read for you. Journey with our Seon's to a  place of magic and adventure, train with them, and defeat evil.
Enter the world of Renaria.

Rise of the Faire - Amanti....LIVE

IT'S HERE... THE FINAL INSTALLMENT OF
 THE ASCENDANT SERIES

RISE OF THE FAIRE-AMANTI

BLURB

Stranded in the desolate dark lands, Kyr and Ty share a bittersweet reunion. Alametria lies on the brink of darkness. Their people are still reeling, believing she's dead at ty's hand. With no other choice, many have turned to the Gaurdians and Advisor Vycor for guidance, never suspecting they're being led to slaughter.

Kyr and Ty encounter overwhelming challenges in their fight to save their people: A deadly environment, murderous Maruaders, and powerful protections preventing them from reaching the palace. When the journey itself could mean their deaths, the one thing that keeps them going is the thought of bringing VycorDane to justice.

Facing a battle on multiple fronts, lacking resources, and significantly outnumbered, Kyr and Ty must rely on each other in the race to save their planet. Will they beat the odds and restore peace to Alametria...or will Vycor's evil destroy them all.

EXCERPT

Turning so he faced Kyr, he lifted a gloved hand to her shoulder. Are you sure you want to do this?

She nodded, but he saw the rapid pulse in her neck belying her fear. They were both struggling to ignore the flight reflex pounding in their minds.

he considered walking to the storage bay and pulling out the sleeping pallets Gren had packed for their use, but he worried taking even that much time would have them both abandoning this plan and giving into the protections. Instead, he bent down and kissed her.

The feel and taste of Kyr shoved every other thought to the far corners of his mind. Although it had only been a few days since he last touched her like this, he felt like a starved man being offered a sumptuous buffet. Her soft lips eased open beneath his, begging him to deepen the kiss. He obliged, rubbing his tongue against hers as she tasted him just as thoroughly.

He ached to touch her. He broke away from her long enough to yank off his goggles and gloves. She hastily did the same. As if of one mind, they didn't stop there, stripping out of their flight gear with quick, purposeful movements. When Ty was done, he helped Kyr remove the rest of her clothing. Then they came together in a mad rush, their mouths once again finding each other in a searing kiss.

Open your mind to me, Kyr thought. Only to me.

Yes. Only you.

He barely processed her demand over the raging need coursing through his body, but understood what she wanted. Since their first time joining here in the Dark Lands, he had learned that he had to keep a barrier between them when they made love. If he didn't, they ran the risk of their joined power spiraling out of control like it had that time. On the more practical side, there was also the fact that if he allowed himself to feel everything she felt, their lovemaking would be over practically before it started.

Trust in us, she encouraged him as her hands ran along the muscles of his arms and chest.

Heedless of the consequences, he did as she asked, fully opening his mind to hers.

REVIEW

Wow Wow Wow!!! I can't say enough great things about this book. Rise of the Faire - Amanti is the perfect ending to this amazing trilogy. This final installment has it all action, romance, suspense, and even a lil humor.  Rise of the Faire-Amanti starts off right where we left off, with Kyr and Ty finally united in the Dark Lands. Together they will have to break through the protections surrounding the Dark Lands. Thankfully Kyr and Ty are stronger then ever, United. They have to journey across several Megais facing many challenges to get to the palace to face Vycor. Along the way they will gather allies and reveal the truth concerning Vycors deception and his evil plans for power. Kyr and Ty will come to see the struggles their citizens in each Megai are faced with and it will serve to fuel their already strong  determination to save their people. The best part is along the way we see a different, softer side of Ty. He is still super protective of Kyr but with their connection stronger then ever we get to see how much he really cares about her. We also get some surprise characters introduced that will let us see Ty with his guard down. Kyr has fully evolved into her role as the Ascendant and with a special incentive she is even more determined to bring peace to Alametria.
Through each obstacle and movement toward Kyr and Ty confronting Vycor, draws you in more and more. By the end of the book I was on Alametria doing my happy dance. These characters are so well developed you feel like they are real. I felt every struggle, every moment of happiness, and every bit of determination as if I was there. That is the mark of a truly great writer. Thank you Raine Thomas for giving us this amazing story.

 Excerpt

My pulse quickens as I see a long lump on the bed farthest from where I'm standing.

For a moment, I think I hear him talking in his sleep.

For a moment, I think of sliding under the covers with him, just to enjoy the irony. We are sleeping with a wall between us tonight, but instead of a hole he sawed, there's a door he left propped open. For once, we can actually reach each other.

But he said he didn't want your company

I exercise my will power and tip-toe slowly around the hotel bed, so I'm standing right beside his sleeping form.

At least I think he's sleeping.

His cheek is pressed against the pillow, and his unhurt hand is curled into a fist up near his chin.

I'm fighting the urge to touch him, battling the forbidden desire to lean down close enough so I can brush my lips over his damp hair. From where I'm standing, I can smell the shampoo he used. It's fruity; sweet. It's so at odds with his big, rugged body. As if to make me want him more, he shifts his hips a little, and the sheet covering his chest slips down, revealing huge shoulders, smooth, hard pecs, and the upper portion of his incredible abs.

Oh my.

That's a lot of muscle there.

I take a step back, feeling exhilarated because he's beautiful, and I'm a bad, bad girl for sneaking in to watch him sleep.

That's when his arm shoots out and grabs my wrist.

I let out a little cry as he jerks me toward the bed. Then he's sitting up. His hands close around my waist and I'm dragged atop his sheet-covered lap. He strokes up from my hips, over my sides, and over my bare shoulders, tickling my neck before he gets a firm grip on my face.

"What did I tell you," he hisses, "about coming into my room."

I could not wait until this last installment came out. Talk about a huge cliffhanger with Book 3. I wanted answer's for Leah so bad. Luckily we didn't have to wait to long. This final installment wraps everything up nice and neat. There is no Rage or Fighting with Leah and Lucas. We start where we left off with Lucas in bed unconscious after going bat shit crazy in Mother's bathroom. Leah staying true to Lucas's wishes doesn't keep him in the hospital but has her doctor, triplet, sister come to Vegas to treat the infamous Hansel. Leah finds some interesting new information about the man she thought she knew so well. One of the biggest Holy *&^% moments and a question I thought to myself. Who is Echo? If you recall in the last book he covered Leah with a comfy blanket and states to himself it was Echo's blanket but never followed up with who he was. Well he is Lucas's adopted son. He has a nanny who cares for him when Lucas is away and is very well adjusted and cared for by Lucas. I have to say I gave this book a 4 out of 5 simply cause I felt it was very short its a book full of answers to all the questions you wanted to know. Like I said nice and neat. After learning such a bombshell all I wanted to know was how Leah was going to take the truth about her Aunt shelly who really was Lucas's social worker and soon to be adopted son. Once Lucas is finally awake after some confusion and self hate on his part he realizes Leah knows. She figured it out from the little he was able to spit out and then from Echo's room that has decorations Shelly bought for Lucas. After seeing these Leah finally puts the puzzle pieces together. What Lucas does not expect is Leah had already researched her Aunt's Murder and the circumstances surrounding her death. She knew her Aunt was already dead before Lucas found her. It also goes on to say how a reporter would call Leah asking questions about her captivity and tells Leah they were video taped the whole time she was there. The reporter goes on to ask if she knew about baby k. Hello who or what is baby K?? When Lucas is awake he finally tells Leah the truth of how he knew her Aunt shelly and that it was his fault Mother found and had taken her, because he talked about her. However, when Leah asks how he knew so much about her and how he was captured by Mother he decides not to tell the truth and evades the question. I have to admit I can understand Leah being a patient saint but I expected some other reactions from her some time to process what she learned, but no she remains totally ok with it. Leah just leaves and returns to her home no super good bye nothing just weeks later. Leah finally tells Lana what Lucas confessed to her about Shelly and his part in it. Lana tells their mom who has to come clean with a secret she had been keeping. Ready for the Crap moment. Leah's mother was going to adopt Lucas after Shelly's death then decided not to giving him instead to Mother. She didn't know who Mother was at the time. She feels awful and offers to turn herself in. For what?? I don't know she didn't know the women was a super psycho. Leah will then go back to Vegas to find and confront Lucas again for closure. She finds him and he is super happy and non brooding. She is unsure of the change in him but happy for him all the same. They have a small dispute over who donuts could be for a new girl friend maybe, Not. After Leah comes clean about what her mom did and how she found out. Lucas of course does not hold her accountable. He then goes on to tell Leah why he finally killed Mother. To protect Leah. Mother was talking way to much about Leah and Lucas worried for her. He tells in detail how he drugged her and then searched her home. Finding a toddler locked in a closet he realized the child, the baby girl was his and he never knew about her and worse she was mistreated and barely taken care of. He knew who she was because she had his eyes he says. Eventually he connects with his daughter Kinsley now 15 (baby K) and she is aware of how she was conceived and who Lucas actually is. Again Leah takes this news remarkably well. To well for me and again the reporter tried to tell her. To end after some steaming love scenes the two agree to be together as two halves to make a whole. They are both damaged but together with the truth out you feel they will heal each other. So Hansel and Gretel get their Happily Ever After.

Red and Wolfe (Part One)

When Sarah "Red" Ryder loses her job as an art critic for a Boston newspaper, she's brokenhearted. Worse than that? She's broke. Her boyfriend recently left her, so she's stuck paying her hefty apartment rent alone. After two months unemployed, there's no money left. With no immediate family to turn to, Red reaches out to her estranged grandmother, a reclusive writer living on an island off the coast of Charleston. Several days later, Red receives $30,000 and an invitation to visit.

James Wolfe is not Red's grandmother - but he's the only person waiting for her at the boat dock. Red has something he needs. He won't take "no" for an answer, and he doesn't mind screwing her over to get it. He lost his conscience six years ago, when he went off the grid. Since then, life is about him - and the renowned oil paintings he does under the mysterious pseudonym "W."

Until the moment he sees her. Then Red is all he wants. And Wolfe will have her - thoroughly.

EXCERPT

"Red?" I push her gown down a little further and close my mouth over her breast, working her nipple with my lips. Caressing it with my tongue. I'm rewarded by a soft moan that goes straight to my cock. I need to be inside her, despite knowing I don't have the time.

I pull the covers down and slide my hand up her shin, then up her thigh. She's warm from sleep. Her skin feels like burnished velvet. My fingers brush her pussy and she lifts her hips. She wants it. I love the way she always wants it.

"Race."

I love the way she says my name: a mew.

"I'm going to fuck you with my fingers," I say, leaning near her face. "Then you'll go to sleep again."

A dreamy smile floats over her lips. She nods a little, pressing her head into the pillow.

I slide a finger into her. She's hot and tight, softer than silk. I can feel her clench as I pump into her. She's wet this morning. So fucking slick. I stroke in and out, painting her pussy, using my fingertip to smooth warm lines around her swollen clit.

I'm rewarded by her crying out.

"Say my name."

I still my hand. I can hear my blood rush in my ears. Race. Say Race.

Her hands grab at my wrists. "Race."

I allow myself a brief grin. It's undiluted satisfaction. She knows - or at least suspects - I'm James Wolfe, but she's still in my bed.

"Say 'Race, please.' I like to hear you beg." I push another finger into her. Her body quivers. "I like to feel you jump."

I stretch her with a third finger and slide my thumb over her clit. I'm moving slow. So slow.

"Race, oh God - yes. Please."

"That's right - sweetheart."

Runes Series a Short Review

Review
Rate: 5/5

I am super excited to talk about Runes the first book in the Runes series by Ednah Walters. I'm  diggin this series. I just can't stop reading it. It has a different concept than what I am used to reading. Usually with my paranormal reads the supernatural is a vampire, werewolf, or angels. Not in this series. This series is based off of mythology and I am not talkin about Zeus (hint hint). One of the things I love about this book is the heroine Raine she is not like every other love sick super character. Instead, once she realizes something is just not right she is reluctant to believe it. I hate when the girl in the story just automatically goes along with whatever the supernatural says. If there is no Freak out moment it just feels wrong. If you come at me with fangs hot or not I'm freaking out, it is a natural response. So thank you Ednah Walters for making that part realistic. Raine is strong and loyal she fights for her friends and when backed into a corner she claws her way out on her own terms. No supernatural will dictate her decisions for her no matter how hard they try. I enjoyed the  mystery of this book trying to figure out who certain people are and why others just keep coming at her and her friends. I even had to do a happy dance No love triangle. You might think at first yes there is one with Raines long time BFF and long time crush Eirik and sexy arrogant  Torin St. James. In the end Raine actually makes a decision instead of stringy the other guy along, lets just say some friends should just stay friends ;) After I read this book I immediately had to jump into the next and then the next and let me tell you it just keeps getting better and better as the series progresses. We see many developments unfold and some major shock factors occur. Before I end I have to mention Raines other BFF Cora at first typical best girl friend blonde perky loyal to a fault same and predictable. However, I promise if you keep reading you will see by the third installment in the series she is anything but the normal girl, Hell I wanna be friends with Cora. So if you love thrilling, fast paced, Paranormal with a touch of fantasy and mythology annnd a smidge of yummy romance, this series is for you. Best part this first book Runes is FREE!!!!

Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.

Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.

Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about him. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only is she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life

Sorry I was away for so long duty calls in the form of midterms. I also have been trying to decide how I want to review the Roamers Series by Kristen Middleton. Mostly because I have just finished reading the series and feel a review on the whole series is needed. I will show book one but discuss all four book's in the series so there will be spoiler's.

Synopsis (amazon)

Seventeen year old Nikki and her twin brother, Nathan, move to the small town of Shore Lake to start over after their mother is brutally attacked. When a missing teenager washes up on shore during their first night at the cabin and there are whispers of vampires in Shore Lake, Nikki begins to realize that there are things roaming in the darkness that are far more sinister than what they left behind in the city.

I really wanted to love this series, I really did. Unfortunately I did not in fact at the end of this series I was down right mad. For the record that never happens to me. The first book in the series is Blur and for me I first read it in an anthology recommended by another author. When I first started to read this story I was somewhat intrigued after the brutality committed to Nikki and Nathan's mother by their father of all people. The story continues with the three moving away hoping to start over. Up to this point I'm still into the story. Then once they arrive at Shore lake and the cabin where they will be staying the story starts reading like a script I could literally picture how many steps Nikki walks up to her new bedroom normally this would be great but this was just overkill. Still I continued to read and found this book to be just as much a mystery as a paranormal read. bodies begin to show up; warnings are made and I love a good mystery so now I'm invested. Enter Ethan the supposed bad guy and ex boyfriend of a murder victim. He is obviously our supernatural but he is also a complete jerk and could of very easily been the villain, and goes more to the mystery. Now Nikki and Nathan twins by the way make friends with handsome Duncan the first guy our little Nikki is interested in. So the three friends try to figure out the murder's and why the cabin appears to be being stalked by something supernatural, the three think its a ghost. They will eventually figure out its vampires and Ethan is one of them and for whatever reason there is some force between Ethan and Nikki. Nikki will do just about any thing for Ethan and she knows that's not right. In fact one of the few things I did like about this series is the heroine tries to stay away from the supernatural and warn those she loves. By the end of the book Nikki will all but give in to Ethan as he is run out of town by the good sheriff Caleb who starts dating the mother of Nikki and Nathan and is a vampire along with his psycho daughter Celeste. Now these vamps can effect your memory and make you do things using their vamp voo doo. Enter a shape shifter /stalker Faye. Crazy in love with Ethan who is currently looking for his possibly reincarnated dead wife Miranda. This is where the stories start to get frustrating at first it was kinda exciting trying to decipher the truth which is why I gave at least a 2. The problem is it just kept happening how many times can one person die or you think their dead. The twists just kept coming enter victor/ Galen/Nikki and Nathans dad, oops nope they only thought he was there dad and he is a power, hungry, crazy Lycan not to be confused with a werewolf. The problem with this series is there were to many loose ends, for example at one point in book 3 we have a new character Maximus a detective with his partner Rena. Now Rena is human and surprise Maximus is a lycan which would be good considering he seems to be on Nikki's side but one night as he changes Rena follows and is vamp voo dooed and made to forget and Max is killed. End of their story no follow up just their gone. This baffled me because Rena seemed the stubborn type at least she would look for her assumed dead or missing partner but nope. This series has many of these incomplete story lines. The worse is the ending of this series after enduring all these errors I hung on. Duncan and Nikki become a couple and eventually engaged even though some lies tore Nikki from Ethan yea I felt bad for him but again he was a constant jerk with lies, secrets, and his own obsession with his Miranda. There was never any real chemistry between Nikki and Ethan just this magical pull. With Nikki and Duncan there was a building of chemistry and reason they fell in love and then Duncan's heart is ripped out and he is dead I was genuinely shocked. The ending the quick lets end it. Nikki finds Ethan and tell's him she met the psychic who told Ethan Miranda would be reincarnated and that she as in Nikki really is her and she knows her and Ethan should be together. End with some love words and a kiss. But seriously we only hear about Miranda in the way other girls including Nikki look like her and Ethan's obsession with her until Nikki. Now all of the sudden She is Miranda no premise to how she is her or why or even signs that she is really here just Ethan and Nikki poorly wrapped up. This was a series with some definite potential that just flopped for me and yet I read the whole series before I came to this conclusion I will say again I am not a quitter. I finish what I start even if it lacks all the way to the end.
